Excillum, the global leader in the field of advanced microfocus and nanofocus X-ray sources, and Waygate Technologies, a Baker Hughes business and global leader in nondestructive testing (NDT) solutions for industrial inspection, today announced a technology collaboration. At Control Messe 2025 in Stuttgart, Germany, Waygate Technologies unveiled its new extremely high-resolution computed tomography (CT) system, the Phoenix Nanotom® HR, which incorporates the Excillum NanoTube N3 X-ray source.
- Excillum NanoTube N3 is incorporated into Waygate Technologies’ Phoenix Nanotom® HR.
- NanoTube N3, the nanofocus X-ray tube, enables higher resolution based on 300 nm focal spot technology across the full voltage range of 40-160 kV.
- Based on the collaboration, Waygate Technologies and Excillum plan to continue to deliver new CT technology in the future to transform how industries approach inspection and quality assurance.
“We are excited to present our Phoenix Nanotom® HR here at Control 2025, and disclose our strategic collaboration with Excillum,” said Ludovic Milosevic, General Manager Radiography Systems at Waygate Technologies. “In part thanks to Excillum’s nanofocus source, the new HR version delivers up to five times better resolution than our state-of-the-art Nanotom M. That puts it on par with advanced optical magnification scanners – but with a simpler system, faster learning curve, greater flexibility, and at a better price point than comparable solutions”.
“At Excillum, we are dedicated to advancing X-ray technology to enable new possibilities for our partners and customers,” adds David Lindblom, CEO of Excillum. “Our collaboration with Waygate Technologies is a testament to our shared commitment to innovation and ability to push the boundaries of what is possible in industrial CT and NDT.”
