Phase-contrast for CO2 microangiography

April 2012 – Phys Med. Biol. 57, 2603-2617 (2012) -U. Lundström, D. H. Larsson, A. Burvall, P. A. C. Takman, L. Scott, H. Brismar and H. M. Hertz

A KTH/KI team demonstrates the use of carbon dioxide as an efficient contrast agent for phase-contrast imaging of microvasculature, providing high contrast with Excillum MetalJet sources. The method is demonstrated on rat kidney, showing 3D tomographic imaging down to 60 µm vessels at acceptebale dose.
