Excillum has signed an agreement with KTH to upgrade their two early source prototypes to the current Excillum state-of-the art version,. JXS-R5.

- The first metal-jet x-ray source (model: JXS-R5) was installed at the Institute for X-Ray Physics (IRP) at the George-August University in Göttingen, Germany. The system is equipped with a 100 kV electron gun with a maximum power of 200 W and a minimum x-ray spot size of 6 µm.

On Wednesday 29th of July 2009 Excillum will give a talk about “Microfocus Liquid-Metal-Jet X-Ray Tubes and Applications” at the 58th Annual Denver X-Ray Conference at Crown Plaza Hotel, Colorado Springs, CO, USA. The presentation will take place at 1:00PM in the room “Pikes Peak 1 & 2” as a part of the session “New Developments in XRD & XRF Instrumentation”.

- Excillum has been awarded a Vinnova grant of 2.09 MSEK over 15 months to continue the development and commercialization of its unique x-ray source technology. This is a continuation of the initial VINN-Verification grant and Excillum is very grateful for the continued support from Vinnova.

- The Biomedical & X-Ray Physics Group at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, is awarded funding from VINNOVA's program for concept verification, VINN-Verification. This makes it possible to conduct a more comprehensive study of the technical and commercial aspects of the promising research results on metal-jet-anode x-ray sources.
